  • College: Syracuse University, NY ~ received scholarship coached by Ben Schwartzwalder
  • College Position: Defensive Tackle ~ starter for 3 years. all – american ~ MVP senior year
  • College All-Star Games: East-West Shrine, Hula Bowl and Senior Bowl
  • Professional Career: #1 draft choice, 1969, Oakland Raiders ~ third year became the starting defensive tackle
  • Pro Accomplishments: “all-pro” 4th, 5th, and 6th year. “NFL Defensive Player of the week” ~ 10/9/72 ~ for play against houston
  • Career Teams: Played a total of 8 years with the Raiders ~ including being a member of world champion Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl XI, coached by John Madden
  • Spent one year with the Philadelphia Eagles under coach Dick Vermeil
  • Post Professional Honor: November 7, 1999 ~ Selected to the Syracuse University 20th Century All-Star Team ~ one of 44 top players in the 20th century. Other members of the team include: Jim Brown, Ernie Davis, Floyd Little, Larry Csonka, Art Monk, John Mackey and Donavan McNabb.
